Bayside, New York — Saluting an impressive record for applying what is learned in the classroom to the needs of the community, National Grid has awarded Queensborough Community College with a $20,000 grant to support service learning courses that will focus on environmental sustainability. With this grant, faculty members and student leaders will work with local community-based organizations in the 2009-10 academic year to plan and develop service learning courses and campus-community projects
